WhisperKOOL XLT Cooling System

WhisperKOOL's Through-Wall wine cellar cooling systems, the most economical and easiest units to install, are designed to mount through the wall and vent into a non-living space at least two times the size of the wine cellar. The unit will be visible in the wine cellar environment and is slightly noisier than a split or a ducted cellar cooling system. Venting is limited to spaces with temperatures less than 85°F degrees. Even though it is not recommended to vent outdoors, there are several options available to do so including an optional duct kit or an exterior grille. A separate humidification system is required to maintain proper humidity levels for your wine environment. The WhisperKOOL Through-Wall system does not require a licensed HVAC/R installation technician.

General Wine Cellar Cooling & Humidity Systems FAQs - A list of frequently asked questions regarding wine cellar cooling and humidity systems.
A: A through wall system is designed to mount through the wall and vent into a non-living space at least two times the size of the wine cellar. The unit will be visible in the wine cellar environment and is noisier than a split or a ducted cellar cooling system. For a Whisperkool XLT Through Wall System, venting is limited to spaces with temperatures less than 85°F degrees. For a Whisperkool Extreme Through Wall System, venting is limited to spaces with temperatures less than 110°F degrees.
A: Venting into living space is not recommended as the system will be noisy when running and will exhaust heat. Additionally, the back side of the cooling system is not aesthetically attractive.
A: It is recommended that the room into which a through wall system vents, should be two times the size of the wine cellar that it is cooling. The system will exhaust heat, which without adequate ventilation, can build up and make the ambient temperature go above the maximum 85 degrees.
A: The Whisperkool XLT system can vent to the outside, provided the temperature does not fall below 55 degrees or rise above 85 degrees. The exterior grill cover is required for this application.
The Whisperkool Extreme Through Wall Systems are designed to vent into areas with higher temperatures, not to exceed 110 degrees. The exterior grill cover is required for this application.
What is the max/min temperature in the room the system vents for the system to maintain 55 degrees?
A: The Whisperkool XLT system can operate effectively provided the temperature does not fall below 50 degrees or rise above 85 degrees.
The Whisperkool Extreme Through Wall Systems is designed to operate effectively where the temperature ranges from 50 degrees to 110 degrees.
A: The cool air supply to the cellar cannot be ducted. However, the exhaust side of the Whisperkool XLT Through Wall Systems can be ducted up to 10 feet away using the optional ducting kit.
A: The Whisperkool XLT Through Wall Systems are rated at 68 decibels when running. The Whisperkool Extreme Through Wall Systems are rated at 67 decibels when running and at 57 decibels when fully ducted.
A: The through wall system is designed to leave the majority of the natural humidity in the wine cellar, however it will not add humidity to the room. A separate humidifier is needed if additional humidity is needed.
A: Both The The Whisperkool XLT and the Whisperkool Extreme Through Wall Systems offer an Exhaust Ducting Kit and an Exterior Grill cover.
The Whisperkool Extreme Systems can also be ducted into the cellar from an interior remote location.
A: The Whisperkool Through Wall Systems do not require an HVAC profession for installation.
A: The Whisperkool Through Wall systems require 110 V power.
A: The Whisperkool Through Wall systems do not require a condensate line. However, Whisperkool will not honor the warranty if the drain tube is not installed.
A: The Whisperkool Through Wall System is not UL or ETL rated.
A: The Whisperkool Through Wall System has a two year parts and labor and a five year compressor warranty.
A: In most instances, The Whisperkool Through Wall systems cannot be serviced on site and must be sent back to the manufacturer.
A: A wine cellar that is going to be actively conditioned must be specially prepared to ensure efficient performance of the systems and to avoid issues with condensation. A: The interior room where the wine cellar cooling system is vented should be a non-living space that is 2x the size of the wine cellar as the system creates heat and noise.
A: True wine cellar humidity can only be delivered via a humidification system. The WhisperKOOL is not a humidification system. Vigilant's Humiditech wine room humidifier and the Climatech wine cellar cooling unit with integrated humidity can deliver proper humidity to your wine cellar.
A: The size of the system is best determined by the cubic feet of wine cellar space that needs cooling. The pricing guide shown on the Pricing tab above will guide you towards choosing the best WhisperKOOL for your application.

Product Warranty Information: If a problem arises with your WhisperKOOL system during the warranty period, you must contact Vinothéque Customer Service for warranty coverage and repairs. Removing the rivets from the unit housing without authorization from the manufacturer will VOID the warranty. Please contact a customer service representative for assistance before beginning work on a WhisperKOOL unit that is still under the two (2) year manufacturer warranty.
For XLT/Extreme Cooling Systems returned to Vinothèque following warranty guidelines, Vinothèque warrants this product against defects in material or workmanship as follows:
(a) LABOR: For a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase. If this Product is found to be defective after undergoing customer service troubleshooting, Vinothèque will repair or replace the product, at its option and discretion, at no charge to the customer. After the Warranty Period, the customer is responsible for ALL labor and freight charges.
(b) PARTS: Vinothèque will supply, at no charge, new or rebuilt replacement parts in exchange for defective parts for a period of two (2) years.
(c) FREIGHT: During the first two (2) years from the date of purchase, Vinothèque will cover freight for the repair of units UNDER WARRANTY to customers within the continental United States. This warranty does not cover cosmetic damage caused during installation or damage due to acts of God, accident, misuse, abuse, negligence, or modification to any part of the product.
This warranty does not cover damage due to improper operation or lack of proper maintenance, connection to improper voltage supply, or attempted repair by anyone other than a technician approved by Vinothèque to service the product. This warranty does not cover products sold "ASIS" or "WITH ALL FAULTS." This warranty is valid only in the continental United States.
Proof of purchase in the form of a bill of sale or receipted invoice, which is evidence that the product is within the warranty period, must be presented to obtain warranty service. This warranty is void if the factory-applied serial number has been altered or removed from the product.
REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT AS PROVIDED UNDER THIS WARRANTY IS THE EXCLUSIVE REMEDYOF THE CONSUMER. VINOTHÈQUE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL ORCONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES FOR BREACH OF ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY ON THISPRODUCT. EXCEPT TO THE EXTENT PROHIBITED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ANY IMPLIEDWARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ON THISPRODUCT IS LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE DURATION OF THIS WARRANTY.
Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, or allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may have other rights which vary from state to state.
