The key to the success of any wine cellar is the ability to control humidity as well as temperature. A wine cellar constructed solely with temperature control is only doing half the job. The unique design of the Wine Guardian wine cellar cooling unit makes adding humidity to your cellar easy.
Price: $895.00 (Powered by WG unit, includes power/control cable and mounting plate) / Shipping $80.00
The Wine Guardian Remote Interface Controller is a combination temperature and humidity controller with single stage cooling, heating and humidifier control. Each Wine Guardian unit is supplied with a remote interface controller and 50 feet of communication cable. It is wired at the factory for testing prior to shipment. In most applications the remote interface controller will be mounted within the wine cellar. The remote interface controller can also be mounted directly outside of the wine cellar or in any other room of the home or building. When mounted outside of the wine cellar, a remote sensor kit must be purchased and installed within the wine cellar. See below for remote sensor installation details.

The remote sensor is a combination temperature and humidity sensor only. It is designed to be mounted within the wine cellar and can be used in combination with the remote interface controller or up to three additional remote sensors to read and control multiple areas within the wine cellar.

The exhaust air of your Though Wall system can be ducted out of the open space if your additional space is not 2x the size of the wine cellar. Simply attach the duct collar and add your own ducting to bring the hot air outside or into another room in the house needing heat (for winter use).
Price: $55.00 / Shipping $10.00

General Wine Cellar Cooling & Humidity Systems FAQs - A list of FAQs regarding wine cellar cooling and humidity systems.
1) What is a through wall System?
A: A through wall system is designed to mount through the wall and vent into a non-living space at least two times the size of the wine cellar. The unit will be visible in the wine cellar environment and is noisier than a split or a ducted cellar cooling system. For a Wine Guardian Through Wall System, venting is limited to spaces with temperatures less than 95°F degrees. For a Whisperkool Extreme Through Wall System, venting is limited to spaces with temperatures less than 110°F degrees.
2) Can the through wall system vent into living space?
A: Venting into living space is not recommended as the system will be noisy when running and will exhaust heat. A condensate line may be necessary and the back side of the system is not very attractive.
3) How big must the room be that the system vents into?
A: It is recommended that the room into which a through wall system vents, should be 2 times the size of the wine cellar that it is cooling. The system will exhaust heat, which without adequate ventilation, can build up and make the ambient temp go above the max 95 degrees.
4) Can the system vent to the outside?
A: The Wine Guardian Through Wall System cannot vent to the outside.
5) What is the max/min temp in the room the system vents for the system to maintain 55 degrees?
A: The Wine Guardian Through Wall System can operate effectively provided the temperature does not fall below 50 degrees or rise above 95 degrees.
A: The cool air supply to the cellar cannot be ducted. However, the exhaust side of the Wine Guardian Through Wall System can be ducted up to 10' away using the optional ducting kit.
A: The Wine Guardian Through Wall System is rated at 57 decibels when running.
8) Does the system add humidity to the room?
A: The Through wall system is designed to leave the majority of the natural humidity in the wine cellar, however it will not add humidity to the room. A separate humidifier is needed if additional humidity is needed.
9) What other options can you add to the system?
A: Wine Guardian Through Wall Systems offer an exhaust ducting kit.
10) Does the system require an HVAC Professional for installation?
A: The Wine Guardian Through Wall System does not require an HVAC professional for installation.
11) What are the Power requirements?
A: The Wine Guardian Through Wall System requires 110 V power.
12) Does the system need a condensate drain?
A: The Through Wall Systems do not require a condensate line. However, it is recommended that one be installed in case of excessive humidity and condensation.
13) Is the System UL & ETL rated?
A: The Wine Guardian Through Wall System is UL and ETL rated.
A: The Wine Guardian Through Wall System has a 2 year Parts & Labor with an optional 5 year compressor warranty.
Review the last page of the Wine Guardian Through Wall Manual for detail on the warranty.
15) Can the system be serviced on site?
A: The Wine Guardian Through Wall System can be serviced on site by an HVAC professional.
16) How do I prepare my space for active conditioning?
A: A wine cellar that is going to be actively conditioned must be specially prepared to ensure efficient performance of the systems and to avoid issues with condensation. To learn more about the proper build out of your actively cooled wine cellar review our 'building a wine cellar' educational pages.
17) Why is the Through Wall more expensive than the Whisperkool?
A: The price increase is largely due to the construction and components that make up the units. The Through Wall is commercially rated, ETL listed and is designed to be extremely versatile and quiet in any situation. The Whisperkool through wall emits more noise and is not commercially rated or ETL listed.
18) What are the differences between available Through Wall Cooling Systems?
A: Review our comparison chart to understand the differences between the available Through Wall Cooling Systems.
